Poland, Russia may not agree gas contract in 2009

KRAKOW, Poland, Nov 30 (Reuters) - Russia and Poland may not agree a gas contract by the end of this year, Poland's Deputy Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak said on Monday, contradicting earlier comments by Warsaw and Kremlin officials.

In October, Poland's gas monopoly PGNiG (PGNI.WA) and Russia's Gazprom (GAZP.MM) agreed on conditions of increased gas supplies to Poland in 2010 and beyond and the government's approval seemed just a formality.
