Polish authorities released some surprising information. Poland's roads are safer. Only 94 people died on Warsaw roads last year, the first time the death toll has been in double digits in nearly two decades. This is a 25 per cent decrease from 125 fatalities recorded in 2008, and is a trend set to continue, with Sunday January 3 the first day in memory with no lethal car accidents in the country.
“I can’t remember a year in which we had less than 100 dead,” said junior police inspector Wojciech Pasieczny.
