World Bank to support impressive Polish reform plans

19th November 2009

The World Bank has said that it will continue to support Poland through its reforms during and after the economic crisis, as well as commenting on the “remarkable” success of the country, in a statement released on Wednesday.

“The World Bank Group is happy to be able to support Poland during the current difficult times,” said Philippe Le Houérou, World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia.

Mr Le Houérou voiced his admiration at Poland's performance, not only during the global economic turmoil, but for the overall growth the country has achieved over the past 20 years – which has seen per capita income double.
